Exceptional Quality & Weaving Craftsmanship

At Carppi, “soft” is only the beginning. Behind every faux-rabbit rug lies a disciplined craft process that elevates comfort into a measure of engineering. From yarn selection to final inspection, we follow more than 55 calibrated steps—each one designed to preserve the cloud-like touch our customers prize while delivering the durability real homes demand.
-
Fibre Precision
We spin proprietary micro-denier polyester filaments that replicate the diameter of natural rabbit fur yet outperform it in tensile strength. This ultra-fine fibre allows a denser pile without excess weight, creating the signature 3 – 5 cm loft that rebounds after each step. Every batch is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified to guarantee it is free from harmful substances and suitable for even the most sensitive skin.
-
Engineered Weave Structure
Where traditional tufting relies on single-direction loops, our looms integrate a double-lock weave. Two interlaced backing layers sandwich every strand, anchoring the pile and dramatically reducing fibre shedding over time. The result is a surface that feels luxuriously loose yet remains structurally tight—a rare pairing in high-pile textiles.

Hand-Finished Edges
Automated cutting ensures millimetre-perfect dimensions, but it is the artisan who secures and brushes the perimeter. Edges are serged with colour-matched, abrasion-resistant thread, then lightly steamed to encourage the fibres to bloom. This final hand pass not only refines the silhouette but also extends the rug’s lifespan by preventing fray under daily wear.
-
Quality Control as Culture
Every rug is individually weighed, UV-light inspected for hidden oil residue, and drape-tested on a calibrated roller. Any piece failing to regain 98 % of its original height within five minutes is re-lofted or rejected outright. Less than three per cent require adjustment—a standard we continuously audit.
When you unroll a Carppi rug, you are not simply decorating a space; you are laying down a testament to disciplined craftsmanship and a promise of enduring softness. That is the difference between soft and Carppi soft.
